Hundreds of animals come to our rescue every month and, fortunately, many go on to find forever homes full of warmth, love, and plenty of chew toys. Here are just a few of their stories.

Although not one of our FOA stories, this was sent to us by a member deeply involved with animal rescue. It is a bit long, but you'll want to watch it to the very end - possibly with a box of tissue nearby! Just another reminder that together, we can make a difference.

Blake is an absolutely adorable Cairn Terrier who was picked up as a stray. He was already housebroken, neutered, and had a loving disposition. His owner never came forward to claim him but I figured he would have a new home in no time. Much to my surprise, he remained at the shelter and later at Pampered Pet for several weeks without anyone even remotely interested in adopting him. Plans to send him (and 14 other dogs) out west to a rescue were hindered by the awful weather and he had another week to find a home. Still no interest in Blake. Finally, on December 15th, Blake and a van load of homeless dogs were on their way to Colorado. Within a week of arrival, Blake had found a new home with a family who had been looking for a pet for their autistic child without much luck. They were having a difficult time finding the 'right' pet to bond with the child. As it turned out, Blake was the dog they had been waiting for. Whether you call it luck, fate or devine intervention, there was a reason for Blake ending up in Colorado.
