Santa Paws
The annual Santa Paws event held at Orscheln's on November 28th was another amazing success! There were cats & dogs, kittens & puppies, even a python and a pair of gorgeous horses. Thanks again to our always supportive community, we were able to raise over $2500 for homeless pets. Thank You Junction City, Geary County, and FOA supporters everywhere! Scroll down for a glimpse of Santa Paws happenings.
Boys & Girls Club Haunted House
The Boys & Girls Club Haunted House was such a good time for everyone who participated that we are already looking forward to doing a room again next year! It was great fun for everyone involved and a wonderful way to say "Thanks" to our community for the continuous support they provide us.
Blessing of the Animals
We were blessed with a brisk, clear morning for the 5th Annual Blessing of the Animals on Saturday, October 3rd. Special thanks to all who joined us!
An American Opera
Thank you to the many Friends who attended the showing of Tom McPhee's "An America Opera". The food and company was enjoyable and the film was eye opening and inspiring. It illicited a range of emotions from joy to disbelief to sadness, as well as laughter and a number of tears. As one guest said, "I am going right home to hug my little dog." For those of you still interested in seeing the film, Mr. McPhee graciously presented two DVDs to the library and they will soon be available for checkout. Thanks again to the Dorothy Bramlage Public Library, the C.L. Hoover Opera House, and the many volunteers who donated an amazing and tasty variety of baked goods for the event.
